Michael is the CEO & Co-Founder of Finless Foods, the first cell-cultured seafood company and the first to serve cell-cultured fish in the U.S. Finless was founded on the central mission to create a future for seafood where the ocean thrives. During his time at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Selden developed a passion for the interrelation of science and food systems, specifically the critical roles they play in economic, environmental, and social justice issues. After earning a B.S. in biochemistry and molecular biology, he went on to work in epigenetic, education, and research before co-founding Finless Foods in 2017.
